Each student has the opportunity to earn community service learning hours when joining the JDC Rock Orchestra. Following the Carroll County Service Learning guidelines, 20% of practice time and 100% of gig and direct charity support time can be counted as Service Learning hours.
Students can expect to earn about 10- 20 service learning hours per session. The actual amount will depend on how many practices and gigs are scheduled for the session and student attendance.
Please print out and use the Service Learning Accountability Sheet. When the session is over, submit the accountability sheet to the music director (Mr. Dundore) and upon agreement, Mr. Dundore will sign the Service Learning Reflection Form, which must then be handed in to your school’s service learning coordinator.
