After cold weather hibernation, we are up and running again! Rehearsals resume this Monday, May 3rd. We will be rehearsing (outdoors and distanced) every Monday 5:30pm-7pm in the parking lot of Faith Family Church in Finksburg (weather permitting). A message from Joey - Director and Founder of the JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra
I hope you are all doing well staying safe and healthy!
For those of you who don’t know, the JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra is a group of 6th-12th graders and adults in the community who raise money by hosting concerts for charity. Our music ranges from Rock, pop, classic rock, soul, Motown, jazz, and other favorites! In our almost 10 year existence, we’ve been able to raise over $40,000 for local, regional and national charities including the Carroll County Special Olympics, Maryland Meals on Wheels, and the Wounded Warrior Program, among others.
Just like everyone, the JDCRO has taken a hit during this pandemic. We have had socially distant rehearsals from May to October, but our normal ways of raising funds for the orchestra have pretty much gone away since March. While we haven’t been able to raise funds, bills still pile up.
If you have any room in your holiday budget this year, please think about donating to our group. Your tax-deductible donation will help our group survive as we continue to help others through music and teach kids the importance of music and volunteerism!
